Three decades in Malaysian education — from classroom teacher to leading a school of 1,700.
The Story
Hamidah's career started in 1995 as an English teacher in Kelantan's primary schools. Before teaching, she completed a Diploma in Banking Studies at UiTM — giving her an operational mindset that would later set her apart in school management.
After nine years in the classroom, she moved into administration as Senior Assistant, spending a decade overseeing curriculum, teacher development, and school operations. She earned her BA in English Literature (UPM) and Master in TESL (UiTM) — all while working full-time.
In 2014, she was appointed Headteacher. Over four schools in 12 years, she consistently raised the bar: winning national awards, tripling exam results, championing digital transformation, and building communities around education.
Her research at UniSZA formalised what she'd been practising all along — resilient leadership. She didn't just study it. She lived it at every school she led.
